About Our Women's Self-Defense/Rape Prevention Program

MDI's Women's Self Defense program is specifically designed to meet the needs of the modern woman facing threats in the real world. The class focuses on using the most effective weapons at your disposal for maximum effect against larger opponents.

MDI has reached the conclusion that most traditional martial arts are designed around the idea that both combatants are within 15-20% of the same size. Within these parameters, a highly trained martial artist can defend himself adequately against threats. However, for most women, this is not the reality they face. Most women who are the victim of a violent attack are significantly overmatched in size and strength. MDI has developed a program specifically designed to overcome this problem.

One in three women will be a victim of a sexual assault in her lifetime. One out of every eight women will be a victim of a forcible rape in her lifetime. When preventive skills were used during sexual attacks, studies show that 44% of the victims avoided rape. Avoid becoming part of the statistics by increasing your awareness to potential threats. Learn how to defend yourself and have the confidence that you can avert personal tragedy in the event of an attack.
